BathyMap visualizes high-resolution seafloor depth data. Load a dataset to explore ocean trenches, continental shelves, and underwater topography with contour lines and hillshading.

Data

Datasets are compiled from authoritative sources including GEBCO (General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans), which provides a global terrain model at 15 arc-second resolution (~460 m at the equator) derived from ship soundings, satellite altimetry, and multibeam surveys.

Getting started

Search or select a dataset in the panel, then pan and zoom to explore. Toggle contour lines for detailed depth profiles.

Developer API

A public REST API is available at api.bathymap.sonak.fr/v1/ - query datasets, elevation, contour lines, and download COG archives. Interactive documentation is available at API docs ↗.
